"...the thingness of something becomes apparent when it is no longer functioning as it did before or it becomes dysfunctional or if it appears in an unexpected place..."

i don’t want to be one of 223 million subscribers in 190 countries so i illegally downloaded the latest four wes anderson movies. this is also because i lost faith in him some years ago. after his golden decade which was the noughts (The Royal Tenenbaums 2001, The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou 2004, The Darjeeling Limited 2007 and Fantastic Mr. Fox 2009) he should have retired and spent the rest of his life rearranging the funny and cute yet sad objects in his wunderkammer — although there was one beautiful scene in grand budapest hotel which moved me to tears, but it was that godawful japanese dog movie, the animation, what was it called? that killed it for me. it was so weird being in a cinema watching a wes anderson movie and wanting to walk out! so i didn’t bother with the last two because it looked and sounded to me like wes anderson by numbers, and i am like, fucking russia is invading ukraine and 9.2 million people died from poverty last year you self indulgent fuck, but the first half hour of fantastic mr.fox was one of the most perfect cinema experiences i’ve ever had and that was roald dahl too so. i’ll report back here.

Well I got through Poison and halfway through The Rat Catcher — and even Richard Ayoade was boring as bat shit.
