A false spring
There had been a false spring in early February when, for several weeks it could have been summer but then winter reasserted itself and the temperature dropped to well below zero which weirdly echoed what had happened in my life. Each day just before sunset cherry growers sprayed water on the newly formed fruit on their trees so a layer of ice would form and protect the fruit itself from freezing which is completely counter intuitive but apparently it works. But I knew of no such trick for my heart which froze solid and it nearly killed me.
